Collections for Simon House 2006

Simon House is one of the few centres in Oxford for the homeless - and is specifically for recovering alcoholics. It has approximately sixty beds in double and single rooms - with mostly male residents, but also up to half a dozen women at any one time. It is totally dry - the staff are also not allowed to bring alcohol onto the premises - or even smell of alcohol.

Although Simon House does receive some of their running costs from non-charitable sources, it really does depend entirely on sources such as our Parish to give them that little bit extra - so that Christmas becomes a special occasion for them as well. For many years now we have tried to provide a van-load of these little extras - and this has always been much appreciated.

Well - you know what to do! It doesn't really matter what you bring on which Sunday (since you have until the 17th December to catch up!) - but please try to bring the smaller items first so that we don't have the bulky items cluttering up the Church.
