Hi Neill. Good to see some views of Stanford. It is a lovely village.I can trace my ancestry back to 1580 in Stanford. My G.Grandfather was Henry Spinage who was toll-gate keeper at Challow, and also Clerk of the Parish of Stanford. My Grandfather's cousin was Rose Spinage who lived in 'Rose Cottage' on the green. There are quite a few Spinages buried in the churchyard, but only one still living in the village.

Nice to see your photos of Standford,I lived their myself from 1991-2000, GOt up to so mischief behind that church. Dont till Vicar Wenham or PC Crowther!!Now im living and working in Barcelona, quite a change from Stanford, but you cant beat the tranquility of good church greem. If any ones interested, there are other countries and towns that exist outside of Stanford,I know a lot of the villagers have never stepped beyond goosey green, but theres some nice places out there. GIve it a try. Take care Stanford in the Vale

Hi, Neil - you've done a great job for the Culham Fusion web-site - makes fascinating watching! I loved also your aerial views of the Oxfordshire countryside - I used to live in Harwell village, when I was Information Officer at the Culham Lab from 1963-1973 - they brought back many memories. Those were the days - travelling hopefully even then - fusion power only twenty years away, we thought. The days of JB Adams, Bas Pease, DR Wilson, Phil Davenport, HHH Watson, Chris Watson, etc, etc. Great lads all. Nice too to see the pics of San Francisco - my son Paul, who went to school at Chiltern, and Didcot, now lives there - I've been there a lot! Best wishes from Tony Cheney

Dear Neill, Nice website, wished there were more like that. I wonder however if it is a deliberate policy at UKAEA to leave out references to CRPP. Wesson's book on tokamaks for example cites loads of tokamaks, big and small, with the notable omission on TCA and TCV here in Switzerland. In case the in zour pages omission is not deliberate, our website is crppwww.epfl.ch. Cheers, Henri

Hi Neill I came across your web page whilst surfing for some kind of place-name index which gives lat/long or NGR references for places in the UK/world which I might manually set into a recently purchased GPS. My call is G4FYY and my QRP Club membership no. is 5449. I am 55 years old, and a professional Engineer working in HF radio systems (Sales and Technical). There is little HF infrastructure market in the UK and my job takes me mainly to developing countries world wide where satellite comms cannot be afforded. I have 4 Sons, three of whome are at Universtiy (one is at Oxford Brookes). My number 4 Son is 14 years old and live with us at home. I am really impressed by your web site, Neill. I'm afraid I have to rely on my no. 3 Son for computing expertise in our family. My specific interests are HF Antennas and PIC programming. I have recently completed a prototype for a 'R+jX' meter which uses a single 16F84 PIC to calculate indicate R and X of an antenna on meters and on an LCD display. Nice to talk to Neil. Very well well done on your web site. Peter

At last Stanford in the Vale on the map for something other than our habit of pointing at aeroplanes and the 'interesting' village politics. Nice to see the photos, but disappointed that I couldn't find my house. Hope you can find the time (and energy) to keep the site up and running. Merry Christmas to one and all.

Dear Neil-what a brilliant website! I came across your Xmas letter today and as our PC is finally working (!) thought I'd look you up. So lovely to see pictures of the family. Dear Dr Taylor: I'm unable to locate the submission of your final class project for my Control Theory Class that you took in 1974. This must be handed in no later than July 31, 2000, otherwise the Academic Senate may move to revoke your MSc. I look forward to receiving it within the month (In case you've forgotten, it was to discuss and critique the following control axiom: "If at First You Don't Succeed, Try Pontryagin") J.Leyton, Senior Lecturer, Dept of Electrical Engineering, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT

Hello again Neill. Chatted with you on email some time back. Lots of new photos that are absolutely wonderful! My family and I will be travelling to UK this year, to London and then 4 days in Oxford. Plan to visit the hamlet of Culham, and now I guess we will visit Culham Lock, if you would be so kind as to send me info on its location. Many thanks and best wishes. Hi Neill & Family. I am trying to persuade the Oxford RAYNET Gp to ask your advice ref a Group webpage. I feel that this will certainly hold the members interests together, by giving static info ref duties and future event details...Also news items. You might be hearing from Martin soon...I hope 73's Glyn glyn.hughes@btinternet.com

Looked up the Radio Society web page for the 2000 rally & found the most delightful & professional collection of pictures I have ever seen on the net. The pictures of Yellowstone & Yosemite were stunning & the Rome pictures have wetted our appetite! I look forward to visiting the rally on Sunday & I expect i will bring back to Worcestershire a car full of goodies. Best wishes from Ian Reeve (Short Wave Listener)

I would like to get some info on how to solve a problem about having to communicate with a site about 500 meters down (area covered by three mountains). The mountain on top has clear Rx and Tx. the site below can only receive noise and no transmit. We're using a Master 2 repeater and a 25W base radio on the site. The repeater by the way is located about 6 miles from the site. hope you can help me with this... thanks and more power... nonie

Hi Neill, I finally have a nice computer to be able to visit your web site. Nice photos you put on your site. I was happy to realize that I was along for that one trip to Rome. Best not to visit Rome this year. I think it is great to have a web site. Someday I will have one myself, but am trying to conserve funds now that I am paying off a computer. Thanks for your translations of UK phrases. It makes reading more enjoyable. Take care. Lee

OK, you finally persuaded me to look at your web site! It's pretty impressive, but I liked Turbo's contribution the best. When I get some time next year I'll get the Blissbody web site up and running (too busy building wierd things for Millennium installations in the ICC ). Hope you all have a great Xmas and New Year, and see you at Oxford next year, when I hope to revive my cycling skills. Love Graham

Enjoyed looking through the page. I'm not sure whether there is going to be a perkins family letter this year (and as it's already the 20th, it looks unlikely) Perhaps I'll do it on vacation!! Love to you all. Special Good Luck for Lisa on going on with her studies (my unbiased opinion of course). Joy
